GREATNESS.... great many ways to define this terms. well let me make it precise. It can be both objectively and subjectively defined.
As an objective entity "Greatness" is referred as having an exceptionally high quality in something.Greatness is a concept of a state of superiority affecting a person, object, or place. It is also referred to individuals who possess a natural ability to be better than all others. The concept carries the implication that the particular person or object, when compared to others of a similar type.
Now let's take it as a subjective term. Different people have different views about greatness like
According to Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, "A man’s true greatness lies in the consciousness of an honest purpose in life, founded on a just estimate of himself and everything else, on frequent self-examinations, and a steady obedience to the rule which he knows to be right, without troubling himself about what others may think or say, or whether they do or do not that which he thinks and says and does."
According to Henery's view, "A great man is one who can have power and not abuse it."
So, one cannot define what greatness is. It's a virtue of every person what is he/she good at. How you treat others, How you think about others your patience or anything which benefits others make you great. In nutshell every being is great in his or her own way. Search it in yourself and yo would find the answer.
Hope it helps..!!!

Truly great people are extremely happy and optimistic . They always look on the bright side of things . If you are not happy yourself , then how will you make others happy ? If you are not healthy yourself , then how will you donate blood ? Its not philosophy , its common sense . We do EVERYTHING in life to be happy . We breath to live , we live to enjoy and we enjoy so that we can be happy :) You should love everyone in life , even strangers .. loving make you happy . You are angry when you hate someone and anger is not a pleasant emotion
Hating someone is like drinking poison , and expecting someone else to die - Buddha
You should love everyone but FIRST you should love yourself and THEN others
At the same time , i think that creativity and imagination are VERY important in a person
True creative genius don't compare themselves to others , it is a sin
They don't even make positive comparison
Also great people don't accept anything blindly , they question ..
Why should they follow , when they can lead ? :P
truly great people can be proud and humble at the same time
They don't need anyone to compliment them , they know they are amazing ..
that's just my opinion , I am not forcing anyone to believe something that i believe
I think judging others is also a sin .. I don't even know myself lol ! I am having so much trouble in understanding myself !! Understanding others ? next to impossible
I have absolutely NO right to judge others !! LOL !
Source(s): smile, NOW :) :) :) :D :D ^_^ I have so much more to say , can't write all of it ! :D :P lol ! ^_^ - 7 years ago
