After reading this verse, I sometimes wonder what the Holy Spirit looks like in us. What is His feeling?

Ephesians 4:30

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed unto the day of redemption.

My intention is not to put anyone under any kind of condemnation. I am just touched by this verse because I am coming to realize more and more that a person who grieves is a person who loves. You can only grieve for those that you love. If I see a random funeral procession I may not feel anything, but those who loved the one who died feels the grief.

Till the day of our redemption, the Holy Spirit could either be a grieving person in us, locked up in our spirit as a prisoner, or He can be joyful and happy as we allow Him to make home in us and settle down in our hearts. So what will it be for you and I? What feeling does the Spirit have as He lives in us day by day?

Who has been given the Holy Spirit?

Romans 8:9 However you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you but if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ he does not belong to him.

Ephesians 1:13 In him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, having also believed, you were sealed in him with the Holy Spirit of promise.

To grieve means to afflict with deep sorrow.

Ephesians 4:29-31 Let no unwholesome word proceed out of you mouth, but only such a word that Is good for edification according to the need at the moment, so that I will give grace to those who hear. do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with malice.

In my opinion we grieve the Holy Spirit we do the wrong we are suppose to have died too. sin like anger wrath malice hate ect.

Ephesians 4:32 be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other just as God in Christ has forgiven you.

Remember the sins that God has forgiven you of for by his grace he has forgiven us. It grieves the Holy Spirit of God when we do not for the sake of the grace shown to us forgive others of their trespasses.

To quench to extinguish or put out. ie the water quench the fire.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-21 Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully. hole fast to that which is good.

How can we quench the Holy Spirit? By not giving the Holy Spirit access to out lives by not telling God all of our problems and relying on the Holy Spirit to help us by leading us in the right direction.

Possible difference between grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit. Grieve is something we do (we are angry, bitter have unwholesome talk).

Quench is what we don't do ( we don't rejoice or be thankful or just talk to God)

Paul wrote: “Do not be grieving God’s holy spirit, with which you have been sealed for a day of releasing by ransom.” (Ephesians 4:30)

The Scriptures identify Jehovah’s spirit as a seal, or a ‘token of what was to come,’ for faithful anointed Christians. And that is immortal heavenly life.

God’s spirit can direct anointed ones and their companions with an earthly hope in a life of faithfulness and can help them to avoid sinful works.

What about us? We should pray for holy spirit and must guard against grieving it by failing to follow its direction. (Ephesians 4:30)

Otherwise, we could lose the spirit and would be unable to display its God-given fruitage of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, and self-control.

Jehovah God would especially take his holy spirit away from us if we unrepentantly kept sinning against him.

He is our comforter and He always points us back to Jesus Christ. We can lean on Him because He will never lead us astray. He is as much God as God being part of the Trinity. Jesus gave to us the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which is to help us live the resurrected life. If His disciples had not have the fullness of the Holy Spirit meaning they got filled to over flowing with Him they would never have been able to withstand the mistreatment they had to endure. We can have that too because of the in filling of the resurrection power that was in Jesus that raised Him from the dead that same power that does not come through water baptism as some like to lie and say it does. No it is special one that God told Peter to baptize all who will come and ask for it. Act 38-39 it is up to God who gets it but all we have to do is want it and ask and He fills us up to over flowing.

I have been spirit tilled now for 29 yrs. We hear God more clearly and we are warned when we go places by the Holy Spirit through an inner witness or through a verse of scripture or given us dreams or visions.

Yes I speak in tongues. They are tongues of power and they are for intercession. Some are afraid of them but they need not to be. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and never forces us to do anything.

The Holy Spirit is a kind soul. A soul that is tender and feels sad when you do things that you will regret later on in life. He gets sadden when he feels other souls weeping. His source of life is with the Father and is the Father. He has no ill will to any other source of life for it knows that life is a miracle.

The Holy Spirit will be rejoicing when The Father's will decide to come to this world to rule for all eternity. Then he will be rejoicing. Until then, he will be with us all guiding us and that is why The Father says not to cause him grief for it saddens the Father as the Holy Spirit does too.

Nothing because there are no such thing as ghosts, holy or otherwise. The religious leader who messed with me as a kid told me the holy spirit told him I wouldn't tell anyone but he was wrong. The church covered it up and my parents didn't know what to do. Then he messed with other kids and he got fired but never prosecuted. That was in the 1970's when everyone was still covering it up. As an adult I tried to hire a lawyer to do something against him but by the late 1990's the people who had been involved could not be located for testimony.

My parents talked to the attorney but we did not have enough witnesses and the statute of limitations had run out on his crime so he could not be touched. He is still a priest at a church in Florida and he still counsels children which is sad. Priests and religious leaders commit all sorts of crimes which proves that they do not believe in God either.

Religious leaders take your money to tell you how to have a better death but I always wanted to know about how to have a better life. I never worried about death. Nobody living knows what death is and anybody who says they do are a liar. The only people who know what death is are dead and they are not speaking. Near-death experiences are nothing like death. The person was still alive or they never could have been brought back. They only had dreams when there heart was stopped or they were hooked up to life support.

But the people who say death is nothing are also liars. Since nobody knows for sure then we only know when we die. I believe something scientific happens to us but I would never want to try and convince someone I knew for sure. But that is the difference between me and religious leaders; I believe in honesty. They only believe in telling you what you want to hear in exchange for your money.

Also, If I were a God and I could stop people from suffering, then I would do it. It makes no sense that if there was an all powerful being he would let bad things happen to good people but things do happen and nobody interferes. Just as many religious believers die in car accidents and fires as non-believers. Recently in the news a bus full of church goers and their priest burned to death in a bus that was in an accident. Surely if there was a God he would have saved his followers from burning to death but nobody intervened because there is no God.

God is what parents tell you about when you are young to get you to believe. The world is turning to Atheism and modern science. The fact that gods only have power over those who believe is positive proof that all gods are fictional and all religions are cults. Learn modern science instead of the ancient religion of our ancestors. They were just guessing about science because they did not know. The science that enables this conversation, feeds us when we are hungry and heals us when we are sick. The science that continues to lengthen the average lifespan of our species; that is the only truth.

It looks like a delusion. To an objective observer, at least.
