Precious lives and heart treasures, too Positions and golden futures, Have been "wasted" on You, Lord; Your sweetness a fragrance so sure. She took opportunity To love You; Lord, with her best. • As a spiritually reborn person, what is the best way for us to receive the Words of spirit and life?

    that the Lord gives?

    John 6:63

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

Contained in the holy Scripture is spirit and life. What way(s) do you practically and experientially lay hold and absorb the spirit and life found here?

  • As a christian and member of the Body of Christ how do you feel about this verse?

    Colossians 3:15

And let the peace of Christ arbitrate in your hearts, to which also you were called in one Body; and be thankful.

Arbitrate Or, umpire, preside, be enthroned as a ruler and decider of everything. The arbitrating peace of Christ in our hearts dissolves the complaint.

What do you feel concerning any particular part of this verse. Whether you want to dwell on the peace, or arbitrating in our hearts, or on being thankful for being called in One Body. Your pick.

  • What do we know regarding " Sanctification" in the bible?

    Two questions regarding sanctification.

    1. In our position, seen in these two verses.

    2 Thessalonians 2:13

But we ought to thank God always concerning you, brothers beloved of the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth,

    1 Peter 1:2

Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in the sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

    2. Sanctification dispositionally, inwardly.

    1 Thessalonians 4:4

That each one of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,

    1 Thessalonians 5:23

And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to study up and for posting to these two questions.

  • Question about the Light in Genesis chapter 1?

We see in the beginning, one of the first things that God, Elohim said, was ' let there be light" and there was light.

3 And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

4 And God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

In our experience light comes from the sun, yet, these light bearers were not created by God until the 4th day

    14 And God said, Let there be light-bearers in the expanse of heaven to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;

15 And let them be light-bearers in the expanse of heaven to give light on the earth; and it was so.

16 And God made the two great light-bearers, the greater light-bearer to rule the day and the lesser light-bearer to rule the night, and the stars.

17 And God set them in the expanse of heaven to give light on the earth

18 And to rule over the day and over the night and to separate the light from the darkness, and God saw that it was good.

19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day..

So where did this first day light come from?

  • After reading this verse, I sometimes wonder what the Holy Spirit looks like in us. What is His feeling?

    Ephesians 4:30

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed unto the day of redemption.

My intention is not to put anyone under any kind of condemnation. I am just touched by this verse because I am coming to realize more and more that a person who grieves is a person who loves. You can only grieve for those that you love. If I see a random funeral procession I may not feel anything, but those who loved the one who died feels the grief.

Till the day of our redemption, the Holy Spirit could either be a grieving person in us, locked up in our spirit as a prisoner, or He can be joyful and happy as we allow Him to make home in us and settle down in our hearts. So what will it be for you and I? What feeling does the Spirit have as He lives in us day by day?

  • Love this verse in the Holy Bible. What do you think?

    Romans 14:11

For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall openly confess to God.

What a joy to do it now. To bow to the Lord Jesus, confess openly to God. How do you feel as a believer about this verse?

  • Can you list some of the many aspects that the Word of God is to a believer in Christ?

-Can you place a verse(s) where the Word of God is spoken of.

    -Its function in your life.

    Eg.

    Ephesians 5:26

That He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of the water in the word,

The Word washes and sanctifies me to be part of the Bride of Christ.

If you feel to expound or share an experience of any of these examples it would be deeply appreciated.

This collection of verses would be a source of strength and supply to so many of us.

Thank you for giving your portion.

  • Our Lord Jesus, cleansing us by the washing of the water in the Word day by day?

    Ephesians 5:26

That He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of the water in the word,

We are being prepared to be His Bride, without spot, blemish or any such thing.

How important is it to you, as a believer, to be sanctified by the Lord by the washing of the water in the Word?

What does this look like in your private times with the Lord Jesus?

  • Being freed from the Self. Do these words ring true to you as a regenerated believer in Christ?

My old man has been crucified with Him,

    With all its foul corruption deep within;

And buried too its nature serpentine,

Completely finished—this great fact is mine,

    I hold it fast.

But there’s a Person in my spirit now,

    Born as a babe so small, so weak, so low;

Who by the Word’s pure milk will grow to be

The overcoming inner man in me

    To gain my heart.

Christ as my Person must possess my heart

And be preeminent in every part.

The former owner died but haunts it still.

O Lord, move in; my mind, emotion, will

    Now welcome Thee.

In spirit mingled, we are one, O Lord,

    The human and divine in one accord;

Yet Thou must have a proper faculty

    That all Thy glorious personality

    May be expressed.

So, Lord, I give my heart to Thee today,

That it may be Thy home in every way,

A place for Thee to come and settle down,

And all Thy grand recovery work to crown

    In one new man.

  • What does it really mean to you as a Christian to be a member of the Body of Christ?

    1 Corinthians 12:12

For even as the body is one and has many members, yet all the members of the body, being many, are one body, so also is the Christ.

What does this look like to you, in your daily life, in your work and school or home life.

Are we those who " see" the Body?

    " Know " the Body?

" Care for " the Body?

Thank you saints, your portion here means so much.

  • What kind of connection do you feel to other regenerated believers here on R&S?

Was looking at these verses in 1 Peter 5 and was touched by one word... " Brotherhood"

8 Be sober; watch. Your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking someone to devour.

9 Him withstand, being firm in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being accomplished among your brotherhood in the world.

10 But the God of all grace, He who has called you into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and ground you.

11 To Him be the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.

So what are your feelings and how has the Lord spoken to your own heart regarding the brothers and sisters you come into contact here. Do we stand for each other? Do we see ourselves as the Body of Christ in our handling of one another? Do we compete? I am just throwing these out, not to offend but mainly to bring us back to who we are. We are in the Brotherhood ( this includes sisters since in God's eyes of grace we are the many sons, and brothers of the Lord Jesus).

Thank you for sharing about your experience and what this may look like in your life and here on R&S.

  • Fellow believers in the Lord Jesus, how do we " keep " this?

Was freshly appreciating this verse in Ephesians.

    Ephesians 4:3

Being diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace:

So I wanted to put this matter to you. What does it mean to ' keep" the oneness of the Spirit here on R&S, where we come from different churches, with different emphasis in the Word, different names that distinguish us etc, in the uniting bond of peace?

You can only keep that which is already yours. And we know that this Oneness of the Spirit is not something that we have in and of ourselves, but we have been brought into when we believed into the Son of God and received His life into us. Regeneration gives us the divine Life of God in our spirit, a life of Oneness. So in the Spirit we are all One.

But what does it mean to us, to " keep " this Oneness of the Spirit, and not only this, but to keep it in the uniting bond of peace?

Thank you so much fellow lovers of Jesus for taking the time to ponder on this crucial matter.

Unbelievers know that we are Christians by our love. By our Oneness.

  • Are atheists really the free thinkers, the educated, all knowing people that they seem to suggest they are?

Please, for us small minded, narrow, ignorant God-believing nut jobs called Christians, in simple language, can you tell us what qualified you, where did you go, what extensive research did you carry out in order to stand tall and boldly and declare, " there is no God!"

And please, no, " Cuz there's no God!" and all the Santa, Tooth fairy silliness, these answers will not suffice, we want proof, no cheap watered down answers...Proof.

If you cannot produce this proof then may I suggest to you that you are not as free a thinker as you suppose, but rather a follower of men. Someone came up with the arguments you spew here on YA. Not one of you can say that you searched everywhere to find God. You are merely mimicking men. Fallen men.

So here is your chance. Prove with proof that there is no God.

  • How is 2 Peter 1:4 where we see that we are partakers of the Divine Nature supply and furnish you to ...?

Fulfill these verses seen in Matthew (ASV)

2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.

10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

  • Concerning the Humanity of the Lord Jesus after His resurrection?

I have heard it said by some that after our Lord's resurrection and later ascension, that He put off His humanity and went back to just being Divine. That today there is no humanity in the Lord. So my question is this. How is it that the Lord is still referred to as a Man and the Son of Man in the bible?

    Acts 7:56

And he said, Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.

    1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God and one Mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

    Bonus thoughts.

Had the Lord truly stripped off His humanity upon His ascension, how would He be able to minister Himself to us, in all the riches of His human life and living as a genuine God-Man on the earth. How would He be the One who can sympathize with our case and be touched by the feelings of our weaknesses if He did not have His uplifted humanity?

    Hebrews 4:15

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all respects like us, yet without sin.

Today our Lord is carrying out His heavenly Priestly ministry, we know this... How important is His humanity in carrying out this ministry to us?

I know it is a loaded question. But thank you for any thoughts on this matter.

  • If the Lord Jesus was not God in the flesh, why was He worshiped by the Magi?

So we see that the Magi in Matthew 2 :11

And they came into the house and saw the child with Mary His mother. And falling down, they worshiped Him; and opening their treasures, they offered gifts to Him, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

If this son given to us was not God the Son, and worthy or worship, why did the Father allow these Magi to fall down and worship the child Jesus.

    Further thoughts.

If any, what do the gold, frankincense and myrrh signify.
