What are some of the best colleges/universities if you want to become a doctor?

I'm not sure if I can be a surgeon, because I normally get A's and B's although last Trimester I got all A's so I'm doing better. What I do know is I want to be in the medical field. Also is it cheaper to study abroad like Canada or Australia? I'm s Sophmore and by my Senior year I'll have take 5 years of French and I know fluent English and Spanish. Any advice btw O live in Indiana.

Studying abroad won't be cheaper than IU, Purdue, Ball State, USI, or ISU. Visit those campuses and choose one. Note that IU and Purdue are known for having rigorous science classes and you will need to earn nearly all A's in such classes to have a good chance of admission to medical school. Consider doing overseas study for a semester or a year, e.g. in Spain or Latin America.

The medical schools in Puerto Rico are accredited but they have slightly lower admission standards compared to the US mainland schools, but the language of instruction is Spanish. Include them on your list when you apply for medical school.

Also consider applying to some small private liberal arts schools. They may be affordable if you get enough financial aid. Earlham would be a good choice for studying science. Some others good liberal arts schools outside of Indiana would be Beloit, Oberlin, Kalamazoo, and Lawrence.

Canada or Australia would be less expensive than going to an out-of-state University. Your best option and least expensive would be State Universities in Indiana. You will only be doing your Bachelor of Sciences Major, so you do not need to attend a University with a Med School.

It is extremely hard to get into a Med School in Canada once you do have your Bachelor's Degree. There are only 24 Med Schools and some only take as few as 77 to 90 students. Minimum Bachelor GPA's and MCAT requirements in the lowest ranking Canadian Med Schools would be equivalent to Mid-Ranking Med Schools in the U.S.

Forget Australia...the cost is too high (500k ) and you are no longer given a practical year (intern) so will return to the US technically unqualified with a Foreign degree.
