Air Force TACP or CCT, Medical waiver needed?

Hello,

I am currently enlisted in USAF Reserve and understand the best answers would be from a recruiter but I am looking to cross train to either TACP or CCT.

I was in a car wreck last year that put a plate in my arm, Once I was healed I was cleared by my unit to continue work. I'm assuming I will need a medical waiver from a Dr. to enter either of these careers? or am I DQ'd. These are the career fields I really want to do.

Update:

PAST test are cake for me...

Case by case basis and you will need a waiver. You must pass a Ground Based Controller Physical for TACP and it is very in-depth. Just because you are qualified again for the career-field you are in now, does not automatically mean you will qualify for the GBC standards. Disclose everything up front, and make sure everything else is squared away as well so they do not have anything else to look into to not let you cross-train. Start the process now, it may take awhile to get medical clearance. Seems waivers take an incredibly long time to get approved to cross-train. I waited 8 months for my waiver to cross-train to TACP but it was well worth it.

as long as the bone is healed -- plates are not disqualifying

but are there even tacp or CCT assigned to your reserve unit ?

you can pretty much forget about going active duty from the reserves

If your unit cleared you, I don't think you'd need a waiver to enter those career fields. I've only ever heard of colorblindness stopping people from certain AFSCs.
