Should Guantanamo close?

Give your reasons why the government should close it or keep it running. I would just like some other peoples opinions.

no it should not close. the base at Guantanamo bay serves a definite and important purpose. the prison also serves a definite purpose and houses the extreme crimal terrorist, for those that wish the prison to close they should be asked where should America house the terrorists. they most certainly cannot be transferred, no other country would take responsibility for them. and are far too dangerous to be released

No as there is no other way other then Gitmo to hold these people in a humane manner and still protect the American public from them (Guantanamo is a naval station, not a prison - Gitmo is the prison for terrorists inside of GNS.

Evidently, you are ignorant that Gitmo is an essential part of the US defense system. Guessing at your real question, you probably meant to ask "should the detainees in the prison be sent to the US for trial?" Yes, but conservatives refuse to allow it.

Yes, it is better for the government to close it The notoriety it had earned as an international prisons for terrorist is too much for USA.

No; its a vital naval base and refueling station and likely serves as intelligence gathering on Cuba. Besides, the lease with Cuba is not near running out and they cannot revoke it.

NO.At least not until Barack thinks its safe to release these still dangerous inmates. Our safety is more important than them.

It should have never been opened in the first place. Guantanamo is a war crime - it's just that the republicans loved it so much.
