Why does my clock tick louder at certain times?

On the nights that I lie awake trying to sleep, I have noticed that the clock in my room ticks louder at 10:43 without fail. Any ideas as to why?

Perhaps your clock becomes self aware and sentient every day at 10:43 and is trying to gain your attention?

Seriously though Sc-29? It's a known fact that as your conciousness drifts toward sleep? Your auditory senses become temporarily heightened!

It's a primitive survival mechanism left over from the distant past, when human beings lived in the wild with the animals!!

It's the difference between jumping up and running off like a startled rabbit? And drifting off into the nice warm stomach of a sabre toothed tiger

You may be asking the wrong question. Is it quieter at 10:43? If so, the clock would appear to be louder in comparison to the ambient noise.
