Looking for input from people who go to Walt Disney World often about how the magic band system works for them?
My partner and I love WDW and go every year. This April will be our first time using the magic bands and I am just wondering how veteran park visitors feel about this new system. Especially in regard to fastpasses and only being able to get 3 of them a day and being limited to choosing one of the main rides for a fast pass. Like either Soarin or Test Track and not being able to get fast passes for both. If we still have our regular tickets that we link to our magic bands, can we still use the regular "old" fastpass kiosks in the park or is that not possible? Also we are staying at two different Disney hotels during our stay, so I am wondering how our park tickets will be associated with our two separate magic bands that we will each be getting for our separate stays.
Any input is appreciated. We are looking forward to the new magic bands but think they may cramp our fastpass style even more so than when they started enforcing the return times.

i'm 27 and i've been 51 times. i went just last month and used the magicband for the first time.
i will be booking my next trip today for july of this year.
i like the magicbands.
the new turnstileless entry to the parks is so much faster and easier with the magicbands.
there's no fumbling around having to find your key to the world card for entry, fastpasses, dining plans, EMH, or entering your room.
i find it nice that its just right there on your wrist.
i like FP+ in some ways and not in others.
i like that you can pick them ahead of time so there's no worrying about getting over to the attractions to get one.
i don't like that you cannot pick you exact times cuz i was really hoping for that.
i typically don't get park hopper but i did in december and i was not happy that i could not pick FP+ at different parks on the same day.
i would think they would change that since if they don't it makes park hopper rather pointless in certain situations.
i'm not sure what you are talking about with not being able to pick more than one "big" ride.
i was able to choose soarin and test track. no problems.
i was also able to choose thunder mountain and space mountain.
i don't like that you cannot get say all 3 FP+ for one attraction though.
its like what if i want to go on space mountain twice without having to wait? people can do that with regular fastpass so i feel i should be able to use my FP+ how i want to.
i do like how easy it is to use the magicbands for FP+. the mickey head lights up pretty much instantaneously and they have several of them set up so your party can get into the line even faster. its much faster than a cast member looking at each individual fastpass.
i will say that i've found that the magicbands have taken a little independence away from me cuz i'm visually impaired and to use your dining plan or make purchases with your magicband you have to put in a PIN and i can't see to do so.
i guess its not a huge deal but still.
i'm unsure as to how your paper ticket will work once linked to your magicband.
i guess you'd just have to go up to a regular fastpass machine and try it.
i know that as of mid november they no longer hand out key to the world cards so that eliminated people from "double dipping" for the most part.
you don't actually need a second magicband they can just change the info for the next hotel but if you really want 2 separate ones for the 2 separate hotels then i'm sure they can just transfer the tickets from one magicband to another.
btw just my personal opinion the return times were never just a suggestion they were always the rule. if people just did what they were supposed to like my family has always done people like you that did abused the return time policy would not have been so "effected" by the enforcement.
