You can't be "half Cherokee" any more than you can be "half American citizen". You either ARE Cherokee (being a tribal citizen) or you aren't.
That said, there are many indians who have a black parent. They aren't considered "half black". They are considered indians, who happen to have some black ancestry.
So no.
btw....there was a Navajo woman a few years back, who was chosen as "miss Navajo nation" to represent us. She also has a black parent. No one cares. She's still Navajo. This is her website: http://radmillacody.net/index.html
