Is technology (as in phones, computer games et cetera) helping or destroying the (human) world?
Here's a little poem I wrote in a few minutes earlier today.
Trouble with Technology
is it that I feel left out?
I get what it’s all about
but there’s only so much I can take
of a world that’s less real and more fake
phones are almost ubiquitous
they’re supposedly happiness
but like pain and drugs
we end up in the holes we’ve dug
make up will cover up our imperfections
that doesn’t stop us from rejection
if you don’t have “this” or “that” you’re not cool
but I think “this” or “that” makes us fools
‘cause if you take the time to solve the riddle
take everything and summarize it in a little
are all of these flashy objects the answer?
or are they just a form of cancer?
~J.K.A.H.
It seems that everywhere you go, people are distracted with some sort of device.
When the phone companies advertise for their products, they claim that phones will make you more connected to others. Yes, cell phones can be very helpful in organizing and catching up, however, people often use these devices to avoid conversation. It is also a way in which people can say things that they could not say as easily in person (hence cyber bulling).
So, are all these video games, social networks, phones et cetera et cetera, really helping us humans, or are we just pushing ourselves further apart from one another?
Take your thoughts and perspective from yourself, and form them into sentences below where we can all comprehend your opinion(s).

While earth as a museum of mans history maybe the case, the pyramids may have started the magnetic grid or fence to hold us down! The static grid of technologies maybe the key that keeps the fleeting field alive from the next Ice age or the deflection of ozone damage. Some one is watching over us all with a greater plan! Might the love on this planet be a sun to the universes of yonder? Is our sun just the other side of a black hole where the electric vacuum burns all from beyond? Our galaxy is flat as our world used to be to technology and our past! Universe or U-verse?

It is easier to do things, such as call somebody. It used to be a major nuisance when you had to go looking for a pay phone to call a cop or an ambulance. But there is no basic change: people still avoid each other when they can, they insult each other instead of killing each other, and there is less "connecting", not more. People only talk to their computers.

Helping and destroying, Helping because we wouldn't be able to talk/text people who are far away and have less advances in medical fields. Destroying because video games are really addicting and you can search anything on google without learning a thing.
P.S: I liked your poem, were writing them in school and yours sounds awesome with the rhymes.

Whether we as human beings change for the better and grow or destroy ourselves we are responsible for it. How can you blame something man made for the furtherance or destruction of humanity when we're the ones who made it?

Both
Pro:We need technology to make our lives easier.
Con: It de-romanticizes, depersonalizes life; love.
