I'm going to assume that you're talking about marriage between a man and a woman.

In today's society, people do not always fall into the box that conservatives have made. This is the "straight" box. Not everyone fits into this box, so therefore not everyone should have to abide by the rules of this box. If a woman decides to marry a woman, then why not? They're not hurting anyone. They just want to love and be loved.

In addition, the definition of marriage has not always been man and woman anyway. It has been man and many wives, it has been man and wife and concubines, it has been rapist and rape victim. Do not assume that single male and single female marriage is the only type of valid marriage.

If you're on a diet of only straight marriages, then why deny the sustenance of love to the people who are not on this diet?

Nobody has changed the definition of marriage, still means what it's meant for thousands of years. Two or more people joining in a culturally recognized union for the purposes of sex, money, inheritance, companionship, or other reasons" .

And why in the world would you assume that it's only liberals that want the state out of deciding who can be married?

The dictionary says that marriage is 'the state of being married', 'the act of marrying' or a close union. I don't believe anyone has changed that definition.

Before you go around about your little god given definition I'd like to introduce you to King Solomon a character from the Bible, King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.

A few reasons: They believe that society is so bad that it must be destroyed before it can be salvaged. The family is the building block of every culture. Secondly, they are desperate for votes. Hillary had Make Every Vote Count. She wanted felons in prison to vote. Why? Because most, if not all, will vote democrat. Democrat judges are the least punishing. The democrats fear losing control. Thirdly, because they genuinely believe that they are right. It doesn't matter that they're not. It's what they believe.

I am not sure if that matter too much. These kind of political issues, like marriage, should not be discussed on government level. Everyone, every person should have rights to decide for him/her self what marriage means to him/her personally. :D

Source(s): I am against any marriage. People should live free and not to feel being enslaved by his/her spouse under the law.
  • They don't care that they have repeatedly overruled voters for their own agenda. They want gays to have extra rights so they can be staunch democrats like others who get entitlements. Two straight men could not get married and two gay men couldn't. Now they want to change laws to accommodate their gay voter base.

edit: keep in mind the number one motivator for marriage has been financial and not love.

Marriage has changed many times before. The whole "marry the person you love" thing is very new, relative to human history.

Yes, they know what they've done. They've ended a saga of state-sponsored oppression.
