Acrylic is fine to wash
as long as you use a cold wash
any heat will affect this
its not the best hat to buy

Acrylic is not a natural fibre , it is a synthetic material with a wide range of uses. It can be made into yarn or fabric but is basically a plastic. Hand wash your hats and they will be okay.................
