Ok so, I've been dying to grow my hair long too. One thing that I've heard works for some people is Bioton or pre-natal vitamins, I think you can buy these in a normal shop. They may not make it grow faster but they apparently help it grow stronger and shinier. I use fish oil because that's what is in our cupboards :) Drinking water would help you be healthier, not sure about your hair growing faster.

You could also do scalp massages daily to try and stimulate your roots and increase the blood flow. You could also try oiling your scalp with coconut oil or olive oil.

I'd suggest out of your list pantene, as it coats your hair in silicone and make it nice and shiny. Garnier is pretty good too because they it leaves a good amount of moisture in your hair depending on which one you get, although I've tried pantene and garnier and moved on to other products.

I use sunsilk shampoo and conditioner, the pink bottles for shiny hair and have loved them ever since I was little. They're good for curly hair because they won't over dry it. I also use a hair mask by garnier :) I do like their hair masks and serums, I use the nutri repair 3 intensive care mask in the orange tub and the miraculous oil in that line too.

Tresemme works well for straight hair or people who like to straighten their hair because it leaves it without as much moisture, well at least thats my experience from the one that I used.

None of those shampoos will help you, mostly because they all have sulfates, alcohol and parabens which make your kind of hair MUCH worse. If I were you I would get the argan oil shampoo by Pro Naturals. Their stuff will totally make your hair soft and manageable. Water will make your hair healthier but not longer, or not directly. Keeping a good health obviously contributes to hair growth.

I have hair down to my knees, and I have NEVER TRIED to grow my hair, it GROWS because of good genes, good hair care (heat & chemicals are not part of that formula, they are hair's worst enemies) and eating all the healthy foods from Mother Nature not sold @ GNC stores, and NOT made by man like John Frieda, which means:

Hair products are NOT made of glue to fix, prevent, reverse hair from getting damaged, or hair loss, or make them grow . . . . they are a billion dollar business. They also do NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss caused by heat & chemicals - hair's worst enemies. • Hair products may claim one or more benefits, but usually they do not have scientific base.

"No hair product can change the hair's biology," says Eric Bone, senior VP of global research and innovation @ L'Oreal USA. "Products that 'repair' them are like glue used to put a broken vase back together. At the end of the day, it's still broke," says dermatologist Paul J. McAndrews, MD, a clinical professor @ the University of Southern California School of Medicine. "Overall, products are a temporary fix, although some can help prevent damage. But your best bet is really to stop damaging hair, period."

NEVER take supplements without your doctor's OK. Buy/use supplements solely at your own risk..

If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all. Hair that you see now is dead. Wikipedia. But it has static electricity, when using heat, it sends currents to the roots, tampering them.

Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" http://www.foodforhealthyhair.com/ http://sg.news.yahoo.com/food-for-health%E2%80%A6 - or 10 Best Foods for Your Hair.

NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

"You find people oiling hair every single day, the hair sweats and it doesn’t get washed. What do you think happens? It goes limp and becomes thin because it is not breathing,” Shamillah Mohammed, a hairstylist at SUQA, says.

    5 Hair MYTHS - BUSTED

“Old wives’ tales and ineffective products that claim to treat or rehabilitate hair often have a placebo effect because people want them to work,” says Davis-Sivasothy, author of “Hair Care Rehab,” (www.haircarerehab.com). “But many of these ideas and products actually do the opposite of what’s intended, and they delay the user from seeking out real solutions.”

Davis-Sivasothy debunks the following common hair-care myths:

    • Myth: There’s a magic pill (or oil, serum or balm) to grow our hair faster, stronger or thicker. Unfortunately, no. Hair growth is genetically predetermined and controlled by our hormones. Unless the magic pill affects our genes or hormones, there’s no hope that it might make our hair grow. (This includes prenatal vitamins. Credit the upsurge in hormone levels during pregnancy for those vibrant tresses!) Basic vitamin supplements can offer slight improvements in hair quality, but only if our body truly lacks the particular vitamin or mineral being taken.
