Why is the American medical industry such a racket?

Because the american population has been sold on a model of healthcare that is false. The idea that we can live, eat, drink and treat our bodies like sh!t then when it all goes bad we can just turn ourselves over to the medical industry is just wrong!! The medical community promoted this paradigm and now we have a lot of sick people who need medical care. Basic economics dictates that when you increase the demand the cost goes up. The medical community has grown very powerful and wealthy as a result. The pharma has profitted insanely on the US population.

With money, power and wealth on the line the medical community and pharma will never willingly surrender this power and control. Too add to this, the government agencies that we entrust to police these powerful entities are "in bed" together. The ones that suffer and have to live with the end result are the American people.

Now the American governement decides to step in and "reform" everything....that is a bigger insult and disaster than the system before! Now the American people are forced and it is shoved down our throats that we have to do it differently! Its a friggen mess and there are solutions to it, but those that maintain power and wealth will never give it up.

Not sure what you mean by "medical industry"?

Do you mean the pharmaceutical industry, or the US health care system, or FDA regulation? Are you including alternative medicine, like chiropractic, naturopathy, etc?

It is the alternative healthcare industry that is a racket.

They sell you worthless and dangerous 'alternative' medicines because they don't want you to get well. They want you to stay sick so they can keep ripping you off with their worthless garbage.

Because we the voters, allow the Health Care industry to rape us. We, the voters, have the power to elect representatives that will reign in the Health Care Industry, but we don't. It is our fault.

It started with the Flexner Report that allowed pharmaceutical companies to run the medical schools.
