Why are there no news stories on how Ellen DeGeneres failed as a spokesperson for JC Penney?

For one of the most hostile people towards religious views as there has been, you would think someone would want to follow up on the story.
The absence of such makes a glaring example of who is promoting religiphobic agendas.
Clearly, if JC Penney had made money, she would have been touted as the sole reason.  Someone with her news grabbing face time should have easily turned things around.  JC Penney found out just how polarizing she is.

And paleeze, JC Penney's fall has nothing to do with Ellen DeGeneres.

JC Penney failed because of their business model.  Its CEO was named as one of the worst CEOs of the year.  Whether his plan succeeded or failed, you are giving way too much credit to Ellen DeGeneres.

Why would JC Penny want to advertise a marketing campaign that failed?

That would be BAD publicity. Something business will pay to avoid.

Probably because it is not much of a news story.  There are lots of companies doing badly, and who the spokesperson is for one of them is not very interesting.
