@ mook - you should look up international law, in the event of the break up of any state anywhere in the world, the successor state is liable for all debts. That's why Westminster says they will take on debt, they have no choice as long as they argue Scotland would be a new state and have to apply for EU membership etc.
To answer the question, why would you? Even if you did due to Scotland's small population you'd be lucky if you saved as fiver
Also BBC Scotland's annual budget is 200 million annually, that would mean out of 5.4 million less than 1.4 million pay a TV licence fee in scotland, your sums don't add up!

Yes, we should! And furthermore, I don't understand why we should take on all of their debt either! I think Westminster have lost the plot.
