If the Scots vote for Independence, will the rest of us get a reduction in the TV licence?

As the English licence payers subsidize the Scottish BBC surely we should.

@ mook - you should look up international law, in the event of the break up of any state anywhere in the world, the successor state is liable for all debts. That's why Westminster says they will take on debt, they have no choice as long as they argue Scotland would be a new state and have to apply for EU membership etc.

To answer the question, why would you? Even if you did due to Scotland's small population you'd be lucky if you saved as fiver

Also BBC Scotland's annual budget is 200 million annually, that would mean out of 5.4 million less than 1.4 million pay a TV licence fee in scotland, your sums don't add up!

Source(s): there is no figures to back up your claims BBC scotland is subsidised. please provide the figures or I'm calling shenanigans on this!

Yes, we should! And furthermore, I don't understand why we should take on all of their debt either! I think Westminster have lost the plot.
