Why is there smoke coming from my oven light?
I have an older electric oven. I noticed lately that when the oven is used for a long period of time or at a high temp there is a slight bitter smell and it makes my eyes burn. I looked into the oven tonight after it had cooled and noticed a thin trendial of smoke coming from the one side of the light cover. The burning and smell will go away after a bit but has anyone else had this problem? Thank you

You may have had something splash on it during one of the last times you cooked in it. And now when reheated it starts to burn off. If it continues you will have to take the lense off and clean it as well as check the bulb.
