How will you solve for x and y in the diagram shown?

    In the diagram,

    AB/AD = AC/AE = BC/DE

    (12 + x) /12 = 15/9 = (y + 4)/y

    9x +108 =180

    x = 8

    9y + 36 = 15y

    6y = 36

    y = 6

    Given AB/AD = AC/AE = BC/DE

    AB/AD = AC/AE

    (x+12)/12 = (9+6)/9

    x+12 = 15*12/9 = 20

    x = 20-12 = 8

    AC/AE = BC/DE

    (9+6)/9 = (y+4)/y

    15y=9y+36

    15y-9y = 36

    6y = 36

    y = 36/6 = 6
