If I Emigrate from the U.S., where should I go?

I am 21 years old, I have a 23 year old wife and a 19 month old son. I am currently employed. I have no college credits. My wife has college credits, but no degree. She is also certified to professionally dispense medications.

We're wanting to find a place that has freedom, but is also economically secure. The U.S. is becoming far too hostile and its economy is in shambles. That, and why live in a country that won't allow me to serve in it's military? Amirite?

The only problem that I can think of so far is that I am currently on unsupervised probation until August... So I won't be leaving right away anyway.

I have a list of countries that I am looking into. If you have any additional suggestions, please let me know! Also, if there are any countries in the list to absolutely stay away from, please let me know that as well.

Here they are, in no particular order.

Canada,

New Zealand,

Australia,

UK,

France,

Germany,

Russia,

Italy,

Belgium,

Sweden,

Norway,

Iceland,

Finland,

Spain,

Portugal,

Switzerland,

Denmark,

The Netherlands,

Ireland.

I have a strong ability to learn a new language, and I am currently somewhat proficient in German, French, and Russian. English is my native tongue.

Also, which of these would be most likely to enlist or commission a person with Tourette's Syndrome?

well, you should start by narrowing your search down to countries that might take you. in reality your lack of education and the fact you're currently on probation for something or another will probably preclude you from emigrating to most of these countries. I doubt you'd be able to serve in the US military, much less any other, but do you really believe Russia has more freedom than the US? You might also consider travelling around a bit before you form final opinions about the rest of the world.

You will not get employment thus no work visa for any of the countries mentioned without first being fluent in the language, have and avanced degree and job experience in a field of high demand and a social and business network. There is no demand for unskilled labor. None of the countries will let you join the military without their citizenship. All of these countries can deny you even a tourist visa depending on your criminal record. Best find another plan.

You won't qualify to immigrate to any of these countries.

You don't have the advanced degrees and work experience in any skill profession. You don't have millions of dollars needed to qualify as an investor. You aren't married to someone from one of these countries in order to sponsor you. You aren't a refugee. You wouldn't even qualify for a temporary work permit in Canada, Australia, or European countries based on your lack of any skilled profession. Your criminal record will also likely make you inadmissible to most countries -- even as a visitor.

Only about 9,500 Americans obtained permanent residency in Canada in 2012. 70% of these were from family sponsorships (i.e. they married a Canadian or were a dependant child of someone who married a Canadian). Only about 1,000 skilled workers came from the United States... all being top doctors, engineers, nurses, specialized trades, athletes, performing artists, etc. plus a handful of investors (minimum $1.6M net worth willing to invest $800k in Canada). There is no path for unskilled workers to immigration to Canada other than marriage or massive investments. The process also takes three to five years in most categories and requires background, medical, and financial checks.
