What comics are age appropriate for an 8 year old?
I want to buy some comics as a gift for a friends son. I'm not sure what to get him at his age. I was thinking Spiderman, Ironman or maybe the Hulk.

Marvel puts out some kid appropriate comic books like "Marvel Adventures Spider-Man".
But almost any comics from the comic code era is safe for kids. I would suggest buying trade paperbacks containing the origin and first ten comics. Each comic is a complete story. There are Marvel Masterworks trade paperbacks of Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and many more. They can be found in most book stores.

If you can find the Elfquest ones put into book format now, those are great, it's adventure.
Also, the comic (funny) types such as Groo are very good.
