Doesn't the Adam and Eve story prove that the bible is man made?
And by "man made" I don't mean invented by humans, even though that should be obvious. I mean specifically made by men, for men, in order to establish dominance over women.
The story is patently absurd on its face, but it quite clearly has an agenda. God can't just create man and woman separately. He creates man, then creates a woman out of a man's rib. It switches the role of birth. It strips women of the special essential biological function unique to them. It robs them of any control that they may have, because their ability to give birth is meaningless since women come from men and not the other way around.
Eve doesn't even get the honor of being given a name from God like Adam did. Adam gives her a name that he chooses. She's not his partner. She's not his equal. She's his property. She's an inferior version of Adam who he gets to rule over and do what he pleases with. It even explicitly states that. God tells Eve after The Fall that Adam is to rule over her. You know, since it was her fault that they're getting kicked out of paradise. Totally didn't have anything to do with that snake that God put there. Or that completely unnecessary magical tree with the irresistible fruit of incredible power planted smack-dab in the middle of Eden.
We see this same theme over and over again in the bible. And every justification for male dominance over women can be traced back to that original, absurd, laughable origin story. How can it NOT be obvious that this isn't the work of a divine, omnipotent, omniscient creator, but instead a manual on how to get women to shut up and do what they're told?
They really could have just called the bible "Get Back In The Kitchen And Make Me a Sammich." Would have been more accurate.
@Kenneth B - I agree that misogyny didn't start with the bible, but I disagree that ancient men didn't need to create a story to justify it. What happens when women start asking questions and demanding to have the same kind of privileges that men enjoy? The easiest way to get them to stop questioning it(besides using violence) is to make up a story legitimizing patriarchy by saying it's God's will.

Of course it does, and many Christians already understand this.
They try and "explain it away" by claiming it is a "metaphor" for the way "God created everything".
However, there is a problem with that:
1) If there was no "actual" Adam, there was so "actual" violation of God's order.
2) If there was no "actual" violation of God's order, then, there was no "actual" sin.
3) If there was no "actual" sin, then, there is no need for a savior.
CONCLUSION-
It was either real, and a "Jesus" was necessary, or it is a metaphor, and he was not.
Either way, one or another very important part of the Bible is disproved.

Men held dominance over women LONG before Moses wrote down the story of Genesis as dictated by God. they did not need a story to justify their current reality as nobody was holding it up to challenge.
Those nations with the largest Christian community and those with a long Christian heritage are the nations which grant women the greatest equality.

Genesis is the disclaimer for all scripture.
The lesson is this.
Just accept this stuff on faith, don't seek knowledge of what is true or false, or you will effectively be punished because you will no longer have your blissful ignorance, and you'll realise you're mortal.

The whole bible disproves the bible.
All I disagree with is that it is only women they control with this superstitious crap. It is men and women they wish to control. But women more so than men I suppose.
Read the bible, to disprove the bible. It is the fastest way.

Holy scriptures were written by patriarchal societies keeping in mind the superiority of men for sexual domination and biological control over female body for reproductive and sexual purposes.
