Two things go to Tom's hardware site and get a ton of information there and I'll give you a link that will help you with the build.I've never built one,but it is easy lots of people do.If your doing for the fun of doing it that's a great idea.If you doing it so you will have a really good gaming computer well I think you are better off waiting for a sale and getting one that way.

    Hi There,

It is not terribly difficult to build a computer. Mostly picking compatible parts, installing them and installing the operating system.

Picking compatible parts: I like tiger Direct's barebone system kits. (link below). Their parts are compatible and you order them all at once for one price. My last build was from them and that computer is still running after three years. Another option is Parts Picker ( I have not used them but they are popular).

After the parts arrive read all the instruction manuals until you understand them then you can start your build.

The main thing to remember is to use a grounding strap anytime you handle circuit boards to prevent static electricity from ruining the board. you also can touch the metal chassis of the case before reaching inside to discharge any static. A static charge can damage sensitive electronics without you even feeling it.

For me the most difficult thing to figure out was where to connect the wires to the front of the case. That is where the manual helps. Another thing was what the settings for the bios should be connected to the motherboard. The motherboard manual explains this very well.

BTW in my case the default motherboard bios settings were correct...did not change any setting.

A "no brainer" is not to overtighten any screws and be careful with any plastic tabs.

    Hope this helps,

    Al

It really is easy. The hardest part is choosing the right components and maintaining the system when it is running.

I'd totally recommend building a computer.

Email me at razza1000@gmail for parts you should use that are inexpensive and work really, really well,

    Ryan.
