can my ex move back in with me?

Married, him the cheater, he moved out, one kid in each household. Joint ownership of house. He is being booted out of rented accomodation for sub letting. The council say they can't help as he is a joint home owner. Does he have any right to move back against my will?

Is there any place, bar CAV (useless) I can get free advice as I have no money.

UK only

As far as moving back in, if he is on the deed or lease and he hasn't threatened you yes he can move back in.

As far as legal help, you can try Legal Aid at the Legal Bar association. There is usually one in every large city. .Their advice is more important than mine.

    Good luck

If half the house is his then, yes he can move in. Get a divorce and the house will probably have to be sold and the proceeds divided.

Just because the property is jointly owned, it does not mean he can come & go as he pleases. Look in the phone book for a legally aided solicitor to begin divorce proceedings.

There also companies specialising in family law, funnily enough called Family Law, see if there is one in your area.

Oh yes, it's his house as much as yours. You cannot lock someone out of their own house. Sandie P is wrong on her suggestion otherwise.
