Whats the best way to report an unshoveled sidewalk?

On the way I walk home, there is a LDS church that NEVER shovels their sidewalks. It's ridiculous. At first, I blamed it on the fact that it's a church and the people who go there are only there on Sunday, but they have a relatively large private parking lot that is shoveled with trucks every time it snows. I can't seem to understand why they can't get somebody to do the sidewalk in front of the building, too. I am okay with walking through a foot of snow, but when the temp really flip flops and we're left with a layer of ice, I am forced to walk on the road to avoid slipping with all the bags I carry. They have crowds of high school kids that can go around and knock on people's doors, but they can't shovel while they're at it?

This has been really getting on my nerves lately. I couldn't find an email address (or even a name) of a representative of the church, but I found a phone number. Should I call them and tell them about the problem? PS. The church is in Philadelphia. Thanks.

You are actually doing them a favor by calling as they are liable for all kinds of lawsuits for not clearing their snow. Call away.

Instead of complaining, why not shovel it yourself? Maybe the members are busy with other things. It's called service. Sure you could call and report it which would be fine, but why not use this as an opportunity to serve others?

Call the city police. Ask them what the snow and Ice removal law is for your city and ask them who enforces it.

It is usually the police if there is such a law; and they should cite the owner.

By all means, call the number. Don't get nasty about it, perhaps they assigned someone to do it and that person didn't do it, or couldn't do it, and they need to know this. I'm sure that if you call and ask nicely, there will be someone out there ASAP.

I suggest calling the resident bishop. His phone number can be found here:
