What do you think about JK Rowling's news of Ron and hermione?
I have read the books, and seen all the movies, and felt that Harry and Hermione always had a more sibling type relationship. While with Ron even though their were times that he was a rude and jealous of the two them, it was usually because of feelings for Hermione. He has always been highly protective of her. I always felt that it would of been too cliche if Harry and Hermione ended up together. That Ron and her balanced each other out. That because she was always so high strung, he would provide a more calm life than harry would have. She also provided Ron a more motherly environment, which is something that he needed. What do you think?

Who honestly cares? This just seems like yet another grab for attention, like her announcement about Dumbledore being gay.
The way the books are written, there was never any indication that Harry and Hermione were anything but close friends. If anything, having him and Hermione end up together would have just been way too cliched. Oh, so he's a wizard, he saves the world, AND he gets the girl? Come on! Besides, I thought it was rather sweet of him ending up with Ginny. She's clearly the driver in the relationship but isn't overbearing and bossy like Hermione can be.
Even George Lucas had enough sense to have Leia and Han Solo end up as a couple, instead of Luke and Leia, besides that whole issue about being siblings...
(now you're trying to complete the analogy of Star Wars and Harry Potter, aren't you?)

I was pretty surprised at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when I saw Hermione and Ron together. . I've always felt that they had a sibling type relationship. It just wouldn't look right if they went together as a couple.
I have to agree with JK, Harry & Herminoe should of been married instead.

i agree i never liked ron i wish he died instead of my more favorite characters. i had hoped harry and hermione together in the end.

This is why writers need to stop talking about books after they written them, she simply bowed to public-opinion, which is bad for a writer.
