If a person does not want much, should they have it?
Just another philosophy question for those who enjoy them. =)
I don't have a solid answer myself, the closest I have so far is that it depends upon the situation; I could argue that you get what you deserve, so it doesn't really matter what you want, but everything matters...
Well, what do YOU think?

~~~ What is with the 'should'?
According to 'whom'?
Beyonf the toilet training, there are no 'shoulds' in the lifew of an adult, there is what Is, and can be nothing else!
"Should' is an utterance of ego, vanity, Pride... imagining a 'Will' somewhere, making 'decisions' that we 'should' follow!
Rather poor thinking!
Religion is full of 'shoulds'!
And personal desire? We NEVER know what is 'best'! More childish vanity!
Thank Dog! that my life has not been under my control (or anyone's)!
We and the Universe are One! Every moment of Universal Existence!
Yes. But times change. Once I joined a small but powerful organization and was interviewed by the Executive Director and Technical Director. I explained that I never wanted their jobs. I just wanted to be a staff member and stay out of the spotlight.
But over time both of them left and despite the fact newer people had been hired I ended up taking both of those positions one right after the other. I never wanted them even though the pay was triple what I was making. But sometimes we have to sacrifice for the good of the whole and take more even though we don't want it.
Wanting something and being able to afford it
or acquire is the answer. For if you do not have
the means to purchase your wish list item. It
is still just that. A WISH.
Everything requires work. It doesn't matter what you're working for, it requires work.
It depends upon their reason for not "Wanting much"
Actually, darling, this is not a philosophy question. It might be a good idea if you actually took a real philosophy course so that you would learn what philosophy actually is, and more importantly, stop bothering the grownups.
I think it depends on the type of person they are. Maybe they like the simple things in life, but what if they are still bad people? Bad people don't deserve good things
