Which hair removal system is best? Laser hair removal with a professional, home laser hair machines, NoNo?

Which of these hair removal systems is the most effective for the long term, cost effective, and least likely to cause injury?

Specifically, for hair in the chin area.

EXAMPLE OF ONE FROM YA Poster, who've tried everything. . .

-WAXING: the wax usually irritates my sensitive skin. I used an organic wax once and it worked out much better than the regular one I used but it still didn't stop my skin from getting red & irritated.

-THREADING: this is an option that isn't as bad as the other things I have used. But I prefer not to do it unless it really is the only other option I have.

-SMOOTHAWAY: this is the little pink hair removing applicator. If you're not familiar with it, look it up on Google and you might get an idea as to what it is. I use Smoothaway when I don't have another option. But more often than not it irritates my skin and my skin turns red on the sides of my upper lip. And it makes it worse when I try to put my face lotion on.

-HAIR REMOVING CREAM: I used this a few times but this irritates my skin more than anything else I have ever used. My skin turns red and all that....

Here's all I can say about laser:

THE laser hair removal industry should be subject to national regulations to protect people from being burned in their quest to remove unwanted body hair, consumer magazine Choice says. An investigation of six salons and clinics in Sydney found four had staff who were not trained in operating hair removal machines, while two had received training from the equipment manufacturer. ~ AAP, October 20, 2011

The home devices work as well as what you get by a professional. It might take more treatments, but it will be more comfortable and FAR less expensive. You also get the added convenience of using it whenever you want. No appointments. Wahoo.

Try something like the Me Smooth, because it is FDA approved and I think costs less than the NoNo. It was developed by dermatologists and has interesting technology that involves light combined with radio frequencies. When you visit the site you'll learn more about how it works.

It really is possible to get rid of annoying and unwanted hair. Good luck.

It dpends on skin type and hair color. There is not a single best laser for hair removal on all patients. The Ruby Laser is an excellent choice for fine and light hair. However, it cannot be used on patients with skin that is not very light, including tanned skin. The Alexandrite Laser is the fastest hair removal laser, and is suitable for rapid treatment of large body areas in patient with light to olive complexion. The Diode Laser: This laser allows deep penetration into the skin and safety for darker skin types, but with less efficacy for lighter and finer hair. The Nd:YAG laser can be used on all skin types, including tanned skin. Then disadvantage is less effective clearance for fine and light hairs than some other hair removal lasers. In most cases, the diode laser is the most effective laser for removing hair on lighter skin, whereas the Nd:YAG is the safest and best laser for more darkly pigmented skin.
