I have a problem with my bike staying running.?
Ignition module replaced.
Battery replaced.
VR replaced.
Stator tested good.
At idle(1000RPMS), I am getting 14.5VDC at the battery. Took it around the block the other day and the bike shutoff. I had power to everything..lights, gauges, etc. It just quit running all of a sudden. It wasnt a spit and sputter and die situation. More like a power to coils suddenly shutoff situation.
Shortly after letting the bike sat for awhile, it fired right up. I drove it to the house and parked it. The bike is a 2006 model. I am thinking it could be the 30 amp circuit breaker. This has not been replaced yet. What say ye???
Thanks
2006 Amen Chopper
breakers "break" the circuit by means of a bi-metal spring bewtween the two posts. induced load in any electrical circuit also produces heat. the breaker rating is directly corelated to the value of the bi-metal spring. in normal conidtions, the spring makes contact against the points. as the load increases, so does the heat and the spring begins to warp. once it reaches the max load/heat value, the spring "pops" and goes over-center and breaks the contact. if the load is removed either by disconnection or discontinuance, the bi-metal spring pops back and resumes it's normal shape. this is how they are self-resetting.
After awhile, bad connections can create higher resistance, generating more heat. Also, the frequency of "disconnects" can cause a breakdown of the spring.

Make and model would have been a BIG help.
What makes you think it's electrical? Fuses don't reset themselves so the bike would stay dead. Some circuit breakers may self-reset - but not all as self-resetting can be dangerous..
I'd be looking at the fuel supply, first ( tank breather/vent clear, fuel in tank, no blockages in fuel line, choke shutting off etc, etc) if it runs but dies, but then restarts after a short while without any electrical resetting.

First look to a fuel situation;
Check for clogged vent or vapor lock (heat shields on fuel lines).
Then check for continuity on HOT coils.
They occasionally develop a thermal fault: continuous when cold, open fault when hot. - It's pretty rare.

Starts after sitting, either a short somewhere or a damaged wire heat makes it quit. Look for something overheating maybe put a small fan on it. Check distributor system for damage cracked coil etc... Good luck louismays41@yahoo.com

It is most likely a slightly clogged idle jet. put some seafoam in it and see if it clears after a tank. If not you may need to rebuild the carburetor.
