I need HELP! Out of Anxiety Meds, can't afford more! Can I switch to Cymbalta for a few days??

I know it is stupid to think of switching to another antidepressant quickly. I am on Citalopram 60mg and my friend has some Cymbalta 60mg. Will switching for a few days help me not to withdrawl? Please help. I have to work and I can't afford to go see a doctor. Ty!

You will not experience withdrawal from Celexa. If you take your friend's Cymbalta then quite obviously he or she will not be able to take it as prescribed for them and it will have no effect on you in a few days. As you already know, anti-depressants are not that fast acting and Cymbalta and Celexa are different kinds of drugs, thus not interchangeable. A stupid plan all around.

Call and ask the pharmacist or the prescribing doctor.
