Why is my computer screen black?

I was just browsing the internet and then the computer said it was shutting down, then it said it was doing updates so I figured no problem.

Then when the computer restarted it was completely black and I have restarted it, removed the battery left it alone and downloaded the newest graphic card updates but nothing has fixed it.

I have it plugged into a monitor right now.

Does anyone have any idea how I can troubleshoot this or fix it physically?

Update:

@ Fady Hemaya can you tell me what the flat cable is and show me a replacement one?

I had to replace my power jack by dissasembling the entire computer about 6 months ago so I am confident I could replace it myself.

just try to disconnect the battery and remove the power cord then open the power to discharge the small stored power, leave it for a while and then connect them all again.

that happened to my Toshiba many times and I used to do that and it worked.

otherwise the flat cable which connecting your screen is damaged.

Since you said that you have another screen attached to your laptop and working, I say that the flat cable is damaged.
