Are there any Christians out there with their own developed sense of right and wrong?

It's sounds like that without the Bible, you would all be just a bunch of murderous raping marauders.

Update:

Nedmorlef, thank you for reminding me why I'm not a Christian.

Update 2:

Arch, scary indeed. You're clearly a sociopath. Are you that unaware that your actions have consequences?

I would actually wager that it's the majority of Christians. In my experience, they usually believe more about the bible than they actually know about it. But when they actually bother to read the contents, they realize that 90% of conflicts with their own personal sense of morality.

Funny thing about the bible. You can only believe that it's absolutely true until you actually read it. That's why so much of it has to be taken as "allegory" and "metaphor".

According to some Christians, atheists, not believing in the bible, are immoral. This raises the disturbing implication that the only thing keeping them in line is the bible...

So, exactly how do you prove that rape or murder are "wrong"?

I know, I know. They hurt other people and threaten the stability of society (blah, blah, blah). So what? Why is that "wrong"? What makes THAT the standard for right and wrong?

Let's say I hack into NORAD's command and control and figure out how to start WWIII. If it will amuse me, why shouldn't I? I know, I'll probably die in the ensuing conflict, but if I'm okay with that, WHY shouldn't I do it? PROVE to me that wiping out humanity is "wrong". Or even that such a thing as "right" and "wrong" exist at all.

If there is not SOMETHING higher than humanity, morality is a farce ... a fiction we created to keep ourselves alive. And if that's all it is, I want NOTHING to do with it.

But there IS something higher that humanity. And you should be glad there is.

    Additional Details:

I believe you're missing my point. You haven't answered my question. You still haven't given me any good reason to believe, without God, that such things as "good" and "evil", or "right" and "wrong" actually exist.

Not at all. in essence, the scriptures help to hone a dull blade.. what once had a hard time dividing right and wrong, becomes easier.

Christians don't get their morality from the Bible, we get it from God. We get it from that "little voice" (the Holy Spirit).
