Why does the religious front support illeteracy?

You all ha e your holidays, your weekly meetings, you daily, meal-time prayers. Now you want to infect education, academic education. You smear the name of science constantly, and the illiteracy rate steady increases. It tells me, this is your plan, and you have little care for the well being of people. If you all cannot get on the same page as a religion, do not bring that mentality to the world. Regardless of what your book says, the Earth belongs to no one, nor do the creatures that inhabit it, that is not a belief, your lack of dominion is observable, verifiable and demonstrable. If you can't cohabitate with reality, get off the buss, go live in a rain forest.

This is not every religious person, I know that, this is for those that are against education.

Most people are frighteningly stupid. Do not be angry with them, accept their level of acumen, which is rather low.

Religious people do you a favour by being honest about their stupidity.

Promote illiteracy? Hardly. I think they would encourage literacy so that people would read the Bible. The Dark Ages-when the Catholic church was happy that people outside the nobility and clergy were illiterate-are long over. Furthermore, there's little evidence that illiteracy in the U.S. The rate has remained the same for a decade. I would avoid confusing the teaching of Creationism with illiteracy.

I would agree that religions can sometimes look out for the well-being of people better. However I would disagree that all religions should get on the same page. People are welcome to believe as they choose. It's one of the great things about this country.

How apropos!!!!!! ONLY a Justin Beiber could really say this! "Religious people do you a favour by being honest about their stupidity."

No Justin, one of the first signs of stupid people is their unmitigated confidence in their own intelligence and willingness to break heads to prove it.

Can't you go drag race through a residential area with a 12 pack of corona or something??? :P

The Christian religion isn't so much about people developing morals, its more about being led like sheep and following orders. Its about power and justification of opinions.

People were once murdered for translating the Bible so anyone could read it and not just clergy. What does that tell you?
