Why am I so apathetic to myself?

In general, I really don't care about myself. I don't enjoy things or not enjoy them, I don't care about success or failure. I don't really care if I get married and have a prosperous life or end up sleeping on park benches. Makes me no nevermind, I honestly don't care. Or like when I got my GED. My family and friends were more happy than I was. I didn't care all that much. Just another day in the life. Same with college. Test comes up, I get an A, I am indifferent, if I fail, I still don't care. I don't get excited about upcoming events or dissapointed about things when they don't work out. Why am I like this?

Some people are highly effected by everything around them. Some people are not effected much.

Sometimes, it can be good, to be steady, calm, and unaffected.

But if you want to feel more, there are some things you can do.

You can try to open your heart, and your feelings.

You can do this, by noticing if you have even the smallest preference for one thing, over another thing. If there is even one thing, that makes you feel something more, something good, try doing that, more and more.

The things that give most people pleasure... do not do much for me.

The things that give the most happiness are:

    1. Helping other people, doing volunteer work, doing environmental work.

    2. Learning about spiritual things... not religion, but like meditation, philosophy, listening to spiritual teachers. These things take life to a whole other level. Try it out. It might effect you in surprising ways.

    Good luck
