I hate this purple format, how do I close shop?
I don't want to participate in this anymore, everything is about what my contacts are doing and rating, etc etc, nothing is about straight up Q & A any longer, How do I close this account completely?

Very few people seem to prefer the new purple format to the old green format but it is unlikely that Yahoo! will ever give us the option of acessing the old green format because when you try to access http://f.answers.vip.bf1.yahoo.com/ it turns up http://answers.yahoo.com/ instead.
If you abandon your account Yahoo will eventually delete it but this could take several years if you have been a member for many years.

It is still about the questions and answers if you ignore your profile page. I never bother looking, I just answer.
But if you feel that way, go to your YA profile page a final time at Answers Home. Use the WRENCH at top right of banner to make yourself as private and anonymous as you can. Remove fans and contacts. Then leave. That is all you can do, as all your content here is permanent.

You have to close your entire Yahoo account to do so. Y! Answers is tied to your Yahoo account.
