laptop lenovo thinkpad shuts down suddenly?

it is not a virus thing, im sure. maybe that its because ive been keeping it on for long periods recently. when this happened, it was on for around 12 hours.. it happened twice. each time it allowed me to restart normally. the past days ive been working a lot on it. can that be the reason?

It's possible that you are causing it to overheat. You could bring it to the shop and have them check for dust and to clean it out, which could be the cause of the blackouts. Or another thing, it could be the battery which is wearing out. Do you always leave it plugged in, or plug it in after it's very low? How far is the percentage before it blacked out? 20%, 10%, 5%? If it cuts out at a higher level (eg. 25% or higher), a new battery would strongly be recommended. Providing more information could help us help you. :)

Try to reinstall windows. Or download an application named WHOCRASHED from net and run it. It will show the reason why your lappy crashed. Mostly your video card driver problem.
