Why do you think although the global temp keeps going up but the deniers can't comprehend it?

They blame it on the sun or claim there is no warming or that CO2 doesn't cause warming Wh.at a crock Smarten up about CO2 4 part series

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOLkze-9GcI

Update:

graphicconception These videos are based on real climate science, not denier bullsh*t

Kano You keep missing the point. IPCC mentions surface temp pause, not AGW pause GW is a combination of surface and ocean temps AGW is still warming Earth, in fact one of the people who talks about the surface pause says the planet is still warming a minimum of 0.12C every year

Ian no offense, but you are about as aware of AGW as a bump on a log How droll

Update 2:

Sagebrush If you look closely at what Phil said you will see he said no statistically significant warming He said that it was warming a minimum of 0,12C per year and that there was indeed warming Keep on posting warmist links

I can't comprehend why Kano can't comprehend the difference between surface measurements and the heat content of the system nor can I comprehend why he does not understand that if energy enters a system and does not exit the system it will provide heat to that system in one form or another. I also can't comprehend why Wag complains about youtube videos when people that think as he does do nothing but post youtube videos or blog posts while, on the off chance they do post peer reviewed studies, those studies are most often taken out-of-context. And then there is Ian with his constant ranting and misunderstanding.

You also gotta love how graphicconception always posts the same graph when speaking about GLOBAL warming yet the graph only deals with a Greenland ice core, the graph stops 95 years before the present date prior to the recent warming andhe's only taking 12 years of surface data measurements when surface data measurements are usually taken at 30 year intervals to find a climate trend,.

That being said, yes there is a pause. However that pause only exists in surface and lower tropospheric measurements and it is dependent on what data set you look at. There is no 'pause' in the energy balance of the system and that is what matters. Surface measurements, while important, do not indicate the total energy within the system

I think there are a lot of variables that are hard for some people to grasp, and when the media tries to put it in layman's terms it is all too often sensationalized, the headlines blare out something alarming, and you have to really sort through information from several sources to get the most objective and thorough outlook. I also think that average global temperatures are hard to relate to because the overall average might not be increasing much decade to decade but regional variations could be substantial. Whether or not the weather "extremes" are AGW related or not is an unanswered question. That outlook would be skepticism rather than denial; I think honest questions about science-even if couched in aggressive terms-constitutes skepticism. Deliberately misinterpreting the evidence presented or arguing science with political rationales can tip the presenter over the edge into denial...and of course, people who are in denial are not cognizant of it as such, so they usually object if they are called on it...if not directly, indirectly.

One thing that I am increasingly interested in is accuracy of temperature measurements and what kind of monitoring we have done over and beneath the oceans and large bodies of water. Plus I am interested in how methods of measuring temperature that have changed due to improving technology are reconciled with their less accurate predecessors. I'm also wondering how science determined that the 'missing heat' that was being talked about a while back was going into the oceans...was this something science already knew in theory but was an element of climate change that had not been confirmed or explained? Seems like the explanation was rather abrupt, surely it isn't something that was suddenly discovered or realized, although the concept isn't something the general public would be immediately aware of.

They are incapable of comprehending the objective reality and science of AGW because they allow their feelings to control their thinking. It is the inability to separate their emotions from the facts that makes them Deniers.

Because they suffer from cognitive bias.

If you start the process with the assumption that the data is flawed, unreliable, or falsified then no amount of evidence can ever change your view.

They cant stand our facts. CO2 is the main driver of the climate, the Sun has a small role.

From my point of view you take carbon that has been stored for 250-450 million years and start burning it at an inordinate rate you are releasing heat that took that period to store. You are also trapping that heat with CO2 and other green house gases. Add to that , we are also removing our heat or carbon sink , the forests, at the same time.

This situation is unique in Earths history. What's happened in the past is totally irrelevant. There is no historical record in existence that expresses the present situation.

And they confuse weather with climate. The last 30 years show clear warming.

    http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/hadcrut3vgl/from:...

And in the video there is lots of ancient history and lots of certainty about supposed future cooling. No, we do not know it will cool. At most, if solar activity drops, we will have data as to whether the drop in solar activity or the increase of carbon dioxide has the bigger effect on temperature. But wait! We already have such data

The problem is that we look at the temperature graphs and notice that they are all going down.

    http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/hadcrut4gl/from:2...

If you want to change your mind about temperature being important then I am prepared to listen. If you want to use energy instead that's OK. But, I will want to see the energy plots for the last 500,000 years - just like we can with the temperature plots.

If energy is important why were we not told before?

If it does not increase the temperature why is it a problem? How can it be detected?

I liked the videos but I have seen them before. I am surprised you like them, though, because they don't support your viewpoint.

EDIT @CR: I see your 30 years and raise you 10,000.

Old sleight of hand 'C'. "Now watch this folks. I have in my hand a genuine rabbit. Now with the flick of the wrist I can change it into an Al Gore." And the audience is astounded.

Magicians are old hat. In fact, in the 60s I played the Chicago circuit. It has to do with deception. It is always deception.

    http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/hadcrut3gl/from:2...

Now there is no deception here. I have stayed away from from 1998 for it was an abnormal year. I am using raw data, no manipulation. Yes it has to do with surface temperature because that is what was made the standard years ago. We do not have enough instrumentation in place to measure the ocean depths.

Phil Jones has verified that the earth is not warming. James Hansen has admmited as such, just before he retired and went into full time communist activism.

    http://joemiller.us/2012/08/busted-leaked-emails-s...

But in 2009, as the thermometer hit record lows in America, he and other climate scientists panicked in a flurry of emails: “Skeptics will be all over us – the world is really cooling, the models are no good.”

Private emails within NASA confirm that they know the earth is really cooling.

John Barnes,a climate scientistbemoans this very fact : “If you look at the last decade of global temperature, it’s not increasing,” Barnes said. “There’s a lot of scatter to it. But the [climate] models go up. And that has to be explained. Why didn’t we warm up?”..."We do have satellites that can measure the energy budget, but there’s still assumptions there. There’s assumptions about the oceans, because we don’t have a whole lot of measurements in the ocean.”.

John Barnes, as you probably know, is a died in the wool greenie.

Now when instruments tell you it is cooling. Top greenie scientists tell you it is cooling. The true scientists on this site tell you it is cooling (and we don't lie). But Bill Nye and Al Gore tell you it is warming up. That the Earth has a fever. And you prefer to go with the clowns rather than scientists.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Take your poppycock some place else! Maybe some home for the mentally handicapped. You are dealing with real scientists here and we know if it is warming or heating. Apparently you don't.

"Hey! We got caught, the earth is cooling again."

"Well, don't admit it. Just act normal as if nothing is wrong."

"Yah but . . . those real scientists have got the data on their side."

"Well we corrupted it once, we can do it again."

"But we got caught and Phil Jones had to do some groveling."

"Yah, so what? What is a little groveling, we are still raking in the dough. A little groveling is good for the soul. Anyway, James Hansen is much better at it than Phil anyway. Phil is a clumsy buffoon in comparison to Jimmy."

"Yah but it is hard to get him. He's always busy with his communist . .er . .environmental protests and stuff."

"Well, he is going to have to put his nose to the grindstone or retire."

    "I think he just did."

"Oh, that's right. Well, here is what we will do, we will tell them that there is some missing heat and it is going to take a lot of bucks to find it!"

"Oh, you are a genius. Ha! Ha! Ha! That ought to stump them for a while. Ha! Ha! The rubes will never see this one coming. We can go on forever. When they figure that one out, we'll just tell them that the earth is chaotic. Ha! Ha! I bet that will send the suckers running for their dictionaries. By the time they learn what chaotic is we'll have another scam. Ha! Ha!"

"See how easy it is? We can dream up more lies, and we got this genius Jeff M who will make up these phoney charts that will confuse the heck out of the rubes. See if we stall them long enough, the earth will start warming, then we say 'we told you so'. Ha! Ha!"

"You certainly are clever. I think I've got the next scam. Oh you will like this. This one is fool proof. This will keep Maxx confused until eternity. Have you been reading about that hum that is being heard earthwide? It is in the news."

    "I think I have. So?"

"Well there is this hum that is annoying people. That hum is caused by AGW!"

"Hey! Hey! I think you really got something! And you know we can get Jeff M to make us a chart about which frequency it is. He is into that frequency crap. Nobody knows about frequencies, it is all black box stuff. This will keep those true scientists rocking back on their heels for a long time. See that missing heat is now converted to HMMMMM! Ha! Ha! Simply genius!"
