How do I go about buying an amp and subwoofer for my car?
I have a pioneer radio, and 4 brand new pioneer speakers, and I want to buy an amp and subwoofer so I can get some good bass and sound in my car. What I want to know is, how the hell do I look for one? Do I need to know how many watts my radio is? How many watts my speakers can take? Like what the hell do I do? My friend has an 800 watt amp and sub in his car and it sounds really nice, so I want to get at least that, but I have no clue as to if I can even buy that, can someone please help me? Thanks

If you are getting a subwoofer, they will usually say what the wattage is on the box or on the website.
When you get an amp for this sub, I would get an amp that does not have more watts than the subs max is. For example, if you get a subwoofer that says 1000watt max I would get an amp that is like 800 or 900. This way if you are not very familiar with tuning amps you can have the settings almost any way it comes and not destroy your sub.
If you are getting an amp for your 4 speakers, yes you will need to know how many watts they are max (they usually say on the box or in the back of the speaker). And if you are going to hook up all 4, you should get a 2 channel amp.
You do not need to know how many watts your radio is.
You can look for subs and amps online or you can go to a store and ask for assistance, someone might be able to help you pick out what is best for you and your vehicle.
And yes you can buy this on any kind of budget, I don't even have a job and I have a pioneer headunit, 2 6 X 9's, 2 ten inch subs, and 820 watt amp.
