Why can't I scream?

I recently heard that just screaming once in a while is pretty healthy for you in that it really relaxes you and frees your body of stress.

So in an attempt to see what all the fuss was about I tried to scream.

I should first say that i'm a very quiet person and have never really shouted or screamed at people.

I was well aware nobody was home, nobody was near, so I couldn't embarrass myself.

So anyway, I tried to scream a few times, when I came to the conclusion I can't scream.

For some reason I just couldn't scream, nothing would come out. I did a pretty loud 'moan/groan', but I still had so much more to let out - yet I just couldn't.

why is this?

Same thing here. I just tried to let it all out but i can´t. I think that this is due to the fear that someone might hear you, so you´re subconciously holding back. That´s the only conclusion i came to :D

Not sure if it helped :D
