A triangle has an area of 24^2-12x. If the high of the triangle is 8x, find the length of the base.?

    (1/2) b (8x) = 24² - 12x

    4 bx = 576 - 12x

    bx = 144 - 3x

    b = 144/x - 3

    Check

    ---------

    (1/2) [ 144/x - 3 ] [ 8x ]

    [ 4x ] [ 144/x - 3 ]

    576 - 12x = 24² - 12x
