is eagle scout an official title that goes after a name like phd or md?

a medical doctor official would be Dr. Joe Smith, M.D.

a doctor of science would be Dr. Einstein von Brainstorn Ph.D

so I am an eagle scout and heard that it also can go after a name so am I

My Name E.S.???

Update:

I think it took the same number of years...

there is also a difference between a doctorate in physics or one in english and they both get Dr but the physics one is much harder

Update 2:

@Bent: your last statement is the famous statement of somebody who never got near eagle scout (i can only guess your male)

You can do whatever you want, but of course no one will know what E.S. means. When they do find out they will just find you silly. What was meant to show your distinction would invariably just make you look ridiculous, so the use of it would not make sense.

Being an eagle scout is a really small accomplishment compared to getting a doctorate. Like trivial :)

Some straight talk: one of the reasons I answered this question was because I am a Ph.D. candidate in plasma physics and fusion energy. Surely anyone can say anything on the internet, but if you are so inclined you might look around Yahoo! Answers at the types of questions I have been answering for years (e.g. /question/index?qid=20131... ), this should be sufficient proof if you must insist on having the desperate wish that I am purporting credentials just to give my words more weight. The fact is that I really am what I say, I have a BSE and MS in nuclear engineering, am much older than you, I teach university classes, and do research. I am in a different world than you. I am not one of your similarly-aged friends who might have conflicted feelings of say, envy, jealousy, or competitiveness that get in the way of more honestly assessing your distinction as an eagle scout; I am not competing with you, you are not on my level, so my views are not tarnished unlike your friends who might say your "most famous statement." You compare things and people with too broad of a brush. We are not all the same.

Everything is relative, an eagle scout distinction on its own at your age comparing it to accomplishments people make at that time in their lives, that is something laudable. However, when you try to bring in two accomplishments that exist on different planes, I surely can call the lesser one trivial given where I sit, and that is totally fair. Yes, compared to a Ph.D. earning your place as an eagle scout is trivial. The only commonality you have among these is that it takes "the same number of years." You have not thought this through. None of this is impressive to me, it is laughable even. Your little eagle scout experience is not comparable to a Ph.D., ask anyone. You also surmise too much, a Ph.D. in any field is not easy, even English. Again, ask anyone. Comparing difficulty is a very "high school thing" to do, the fields are too different to make such direct juxtapositions worthwhile or accurate.

Your parenthetical note only reflects negatively on you, someday you might realize that.

NO, of course not. There's a huge difference between being an eagle scout and getting a doctorate.

You can put it on a resume, although people might wonder about pride in being part of a bigoted organization.

    Hello M:

Congratulations on earning your Eagle Scout.

No, it is not a title. It is more like a high school diploma, you would not say; "Rufus McFarland, H.S.D.," nor would you say "Rufus McFarland, E.S."

    Keep on Scoutin'

No, it does not go after your name, but it is something some people include in their resumes.
