Setting "View" default in Microsoft Word 2010?

When I open a document in Microsoft Word 2010, the default view is a two-page view with a zoom of 80%. I would like to change it to a one-page view and a higher zoom. How do I change the default? Can it be changed?

Thank you for your time and your help.

Update:

Fred:

That doesn't change the "default," only the current view. I wish to make the default one page and a different zoom EVERY time I Open a document.

Click on the % figure in the bottom right of the screen and select "Page width". This assumes you are in Page Layout view (also in the Status Bar at the bottom of the Word screen).
