William and Kate on holiday again?

No. When they are on 'holiday' they pay for this - when they are on a royal visit the state pays. The taxpayer pays for their protection from the handul of nutjobs who don't like them (both here and in the colonies). You would presumably be surprised to know that both the Queen and Prince Charles pay income tax on their earnings.

If we abandoned royalty you would have to pay for a head of state, including all their entourage and security - assuming you are British - so it really would make no difference to you financially - particulary as you don't seem to have a clue how they are funded.

It always amazes me how tolerant people are of this sort of thing in countries where there is royalty...Outside of Monaco, where they pay no taxes and most the citizenry are guaranteed a comfortable lifestyle...I just do not comprehend how the populace just smiles and is delighted to have one family held high above all others simply because of who they are born.

I was watching Duchess Kate entertain these accomplished actors at Buckingham Palace, and all these great thespians curtsying to her as she went down the reception line...and I just kept wondering what Helen Mirren and all these other people felt curtsying to this young woman who's only accomplishment was being married to a guy, who happened to be born a Windsor....But the people haven't revolted, so they must enjoy that sort of thing.

And they always speak so highly of you!

Can I ask where your proof is to suggest they aren't paying for this themselves? For people who clearly still have this lad's mother on a pedestal, I'm amazed at such 'hate' being directed at William!!

wow, you have to pay one more pound for them to go on vacation. you do know that they make millions of pounds a year just from tourist revenue, right?
