Two insurance policies on one car?

Ok so I just took out and insurance policy on my dad's car with ingenie because it was the cheapest but my dad already has a policy on the car.

Can you do it or will the insurance be cancelled?

Relax, Ingenie will simply check their records, find out your Dad already has a policy on that car with them and reject your forms.

Why on earth do you want to insure the car twice? Fraud? Why don't you simply ask your dad to put your name on his policy and you give him the extra dosh?

cant do it, it's actually illegal.

BOTH of the policies may be at risk of being cancelled!i'd be livid if my son took out a policy on my car, and my insurance was cancelled without me knowing about it!

i would cancel your policy asap if i were you

One needs to be cancelled. Imagine if you have an accident - both insurance companies will be claiming the other one should pay out.

You can not have two policies on the same car, you will have to cancel yours.
