    A stovepipe hat is a tall top hat. Top hats were in style for a long time, and the desired height changed over time, taller and shorter, just as the lapels in mens' suits go from narrow to wide and back again over time. In Lincoln's time, top hats were tall, so we call that a 'stovepipe hat'. It wasn't made from an actual stovepipe or anything. 8^)

    Hello Dear...Hat is the long man. Hats were in style for a long time and the suit desired height only to go wide and narrow back in time as the male side, long and short-changed over time. Time Lincoln, so we are top hat "hat" we say, it was long. This fact is made stovepipe or anything.
