Pros of Bio-Printing?

I'm doing my biology project on 3D organ printing and I wanted to see what some people think about bio-printing. What do you think are the pros and cons? What is your overall opinion on bio-printing? If it were more widely available, would you use it?

It's still an experimental technique and it is yet to be approved for human use, although it may one day be. There are still issues to handle.

Pros: it would theoretically allow us to make almost any organ of any size with the patient's own cells, so there should be less prospect for rejection (theoretically), and the problem of a suitable donor would be avoided.

Cons: We still aren't at the stage where we can print a working organ that we can transplant into someone. Also, organs are extremely complicated structures and it's a bit more than just printing the cells in the right place. So right now, we simply cannot make working organs with this technique.

If the technical hurdles are overcome and we do start making organs, I'm all for it. Right now, though, that isn't happening. It's not a question of it being more widely available, nobody right now can make transplantable organs with it.
