Are poor people poor because they vote for presidents like Obama?
Remember when gasoline was $1.83? When Obama took office he made sure the poor paid $3 or take the bus limiting them to lower wages. Remember when health care cost $100 bucks a month? Not anymore. Now its $385 a month. Also, why is the Obama Admin loaning massive money to Africa for fracturing and a pipeline creating jobs yet won't budge here?

I think it has more to do with how little money they have.

My first insurance cost me $2.80 a month. It paid for a week in the hospital and the doctor when I had my first child in the fifties when Eisenhower was in. I remember gas going down to 28 cents during the gas wars of the sixties when the Democrats were in. In the seventies when Carter was in, we got the highest interest ever on our savings. After Carter, Reagan got in, followed by Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama. I don't remember anything ever that had to be paid for going down in price in all that time and I have never seen interest reach a reasonable enough rate to entice people to save in all that time. I don't happen to think we should be fracking and ruining our water tables and having small earthquakes. I am also not for loaning any money to anyone until we have our own infrastructure and schools and all the other things we need as a country done. I do know they have been sending money and food to much of Africa as far back as I can remember. All I can say is, corporations went to Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, China and other places to manufacture and even do some service jobs so they could make more money. That put a few thousand shiploads of people out of work. You should check up on how they could have done that and then get back to me. Believe me, it wasn't the poor workers idea to send them there.

A few things.
1. We keep hearing from Republicans that gas was $1.80/gal when Obama was elected. But that's not exactly true. It was $1.80/gal before the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. When Obama took office it was more like $3.50/gal.
2. Since Reagan the Republicans have been pushing the idea that by all of us sacrificing to make rich people richer, we will all get richer. This has been the paradigm for both parties for four presidential administrations now, for more than 30 years. And the thing is, it has never worked! The Republicans' universal prescription, for ANY economic conditions, is more tax cuts for corporations and the rich. To even question this gets you labeled a 'communist'.
3. GW Bush's presidency ended with a political faceplant. He did so badly that Republicans don't even want to talk about him. Two Republican presidential campaigns have studiously avoided talking about him. But neither McCain nor Romney had any ideas to suggest other than Bushonomics. Let's give the rich even MORE tax cuts, let's destroy our entire regulatory infrastructure, let's double our defense budget yet again and spread the failed Iraq war to Iran. Sure, that'll be good for poor people! 8^) No wonder they lost!

Wow, you really want to blame Obama for everything, don't you?
It's funny, I can remember when you could get a gallon of gas for $0.999 a gallon, wasn't really all that long ago, in about six months the price almost doubled. The best part about it was that it happened before Obama was elected.
I can remember when my health insurance was $100 a month, it was 1976. It went up every year since then. Somebody told me that Obama was born in 1965, if that's the case, Obama was about 11 years old.
He must have been one really smart kid to be able to affect my health insurance rates at 11 years old.

Funny. when Bush was President the rising price of gas had nothing to do with who the President was. I remember when Health Insurance was $100 a month. It was when Bush was President: HW Bush that is. Health Insurance rose to it's present level while W Bush was President. It has been fairly level since Obama has been President.

I don't remember health care EVER costing 100 a month.
Why are they fracking in Africa? Because that continent is going to be raped and pillaged in every regard until there is nothing left because a few corrupt men in power there have no morals Same people who sold slaves to the rest of the world. No different.

You know I should have taken a picture but didn't when I got up really early to get gas and there he was on a ladder with that pole thing changing the price up at my favorite station. How he finds the time is a mystery.

First of all Obama is not to blame for everything. The situation was bad since he got in office. It's just that he certainly hasn't made it any better and he has caused some damage of his own.

We have privatized oil in the US. Growth aka supply and demand controls gas prices. When a good jobs report is released gas goes up. When a bad jobs report comes out gas goes down. I feel like I am talking to a daddy's boy that always thinks dad knows best.

The good news about Obama is that he will never be re-elected. The bad news about Obama is that since he is no long accountable to an electorate he can do whatever his nutty ideology suggests to him.
