What just happened?

I'll give this one to Silvagne for putting together the list and shrewd old Sheedy for making it work and of course 22 blokes who did themselves and their growing fan base proud. Excellent effort all round !

Someone gave me the score just before we hit Metricon stadium on the bus last night. i thought it would be a close game but it wasn't the case. the Giants were about to grab their biggest scalp to date. the Swans would have been far better off to get Lee Majors out of retirement. at least he only cost 6 million. not 10 million like Bud the dud.

Winners} the Giants. Leon Cameron in his first game as senior coach. Shane Mumford. Buddy Franklin. he still wins even if the club doesn't.

Losers} the Swans, Swans supporters , Andrew Ireland. the AFL for allowing this club to be so reckless with the spending of their C.O.L.A.

Sydney swans were beaten by the AFL, not by GWS. when one considers the many millions upon millions thrown at GWS, the non stop concessions, and the never ending deals in the drafts it is blatantly obvious that the AFL intend to BUY premierships for both Gold Coast and GWS. the only interest being which one succeeds first. they will both be given one, just a matter of which is first.

if only Melbourne were given half of the special deals these two teams were given, Melbourne would be knocking on the door of the top four. maybe the AFL could BUY a few top name rugby players for Melbourne , but that joke has finally worn out.

thank god Demetriou has finally been driven out, and fairness and common sense will again return to the AFL. (hopefully) And I still very much doubt if NSW can support 2 AFL teams. there is just not the supporter base to warrant it. are GWS still handing out free tickets to attract support?

What actually happened? GWS were better than the Swans.

The little boy in Short Pants is now wearing Jeans. What a fantastic performance by GWS. With another excellent effort by GCS as well.

No Tippett and Kieren Jack. But still... Sydneys forward was poor. Midfield mediocre and limited teamwork between the defenders however they played okay individually.
