Atheists, if evolution is true, why do giant birds not rule the earth?

They already had the genes of giant "dinosaurs" that lived "millions of years ago", why didn't they reclaim their thrown after the meteor crash? Is that when "Darwin" your imaginary half monkey half man showed up and saved the world from the terror birds?

    "...retain their thrown..."

    Sigh. It's "throne," genius.

The asteroid/comet hit, about 65 million years ago, that wiped out around 85% of ALL life on earth, crashed the global ecosystem. Most of the survivors were fairly small organisms, because they needed less food/energy to survive. The earth's climate also changed, to have less oxygen in the atmosphere and be cooler overall. All of these factors resulted in selection pressure towards smaller organisms, rather than the selection pressures that favored big ones previously.

Interestingly, life in the oceans was less affected and rebounded faster than life on land, which is one reason the biggest animals on earth *after* the KT extinction event were found in the oceans.

Yes, I know you're a troll, but I thought I'd answer honestly and factually anyway.

because NOT ALL dinosaurs were big and dominant. some were smaller than birds today and lived in trees to hunt insects and small early mammals. Being a dinosaur does not immediately mean "superior"; it depends on what OTHER animals there are to compete and in what condition.

First of all, animals like this such as the pterodactyl were wiped out a while ago. Second, flying creatures can't really get that large, or else they would weigh too much. Third, evolution is random. Not every single mutation that happens to a species is ideal for their survival.

They did for a while. There are still about twice as many species of birds (9,000-10,000) as there are mammals (4,475-5000).

Because evolution only works like that in your imagination. Learn something then we can talk, unless you're too scared

They didn't have to. They didn't really have to adapt to anything that needed them to be giant.

Because like you, birds have very tiny brains. Plus, humans have better firepower.

But keep posting the ignorance, it's cracking me up here.
