How long should I stay in Orlando for?

We're planning our vacation. Is it too hot to go to Orlando in august? Anyways I'm 16 years old and my mom said we have a maximum of around 7-8 days to stay there. I want to go Disney World, shopping, beach, and maybe universal studios. I was thinking 5 days in Disney world, 1 day shopping at the outlets, 1 day at the beach and 1 day at universal studios. What do you think? Also subtract all the kiddie rides and water parks, I won't be doing those. ONE LAST THING. Is there a bus that goes from Orlando to Dayton beach and back? We won't be renting a car :)

Greyhound has service to and from Orlando-Daytona Beach - Takes just over an hour at cost close to $20 each way per person. http://greyhounf.com/

There are about 12 different theme parks in Central Florida and probably 6 or seven water parks.

Frankly unless you are from some really remote area or from another country I don't see why you would waste your time shopping - except for souvenirs, 7 or 8 days will go by like lightening.

It is really hot in Orlando in August - hot and humid.

It really depends on exactly what you want to do. Do you want to go to all of the Disney Parks and all of the Universal Parks? If so, you really need a full day at each of them, especially in August when the parks are a bit busy, so that's 6 days right there. You can shop at Disney, at Downtown Disney, at Universal Citywalk, and just combine that somewhat with your park days. There really isn't any shopping in Orlando that you can't likely do wherever you live.

There is probably Greyhound transportation between Orlando and Daytona. There are some shuttles that run from the airport to Daytona. None of them will be particularly convenient for a day trip to the beach. You might want to consider renting a car just for that day.
