My nephew asked me if his daughter can come live with us?
She is giving him fits, 15 year old. They live in VA while I'm in Texas. Do I have to become her legal guardian? Any other things I should look into? I think they should work things out but there are some underlining issues that are very hard to deal with for him.

I wouldn't advise it. You might make deal with him that if she comes, you can send her home if she gives you fits too. Also a legal paper of temporary guardianship might help.

Sad to say, I took my cousin's daughter and adopted her. My cousin said 40 was too old to raise her.
But the girl was unruly and nearly put both of us into a hospital with a nervous break down. She smoked and drank and would sneak out of the house and once when I learned she had slipped out of the house, we sat up till 2 AM and she came in. She had the gall to tell us she was walking the dog!
Things got progressively worse and she ran away~ somehow we found out that she went to another state and was living with homosexuals! We begged her to leave--no she said-- she was 17 and we responsible for her. What a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When she was legal age, we were very happy we no longer had the burden of her living in our house, she could have broken up our marriage~ and after she was gone peace returned to our Christian home. She called us and ask if she could come back because she was living in a bad situation and we allowed her to come back, but before she got from our porch steps to the house , she began with her foul mouth and we told her she was of age, now and we never allowed such filthy language and why should be start then. We told her we would buy her a bus ticket and we did--and put her on the first bus leaving town.
Think long and hard and follow Daddy Bob's suggestion~sorry we didn't do that.

You might need to do that to get medical care for her but if the kid needs a place to live and you're willing, jump on it.
